Libby Library App

A few months ago I re-discovered the Libby app. Libby connects to your library card and enables you to check out and read e-books and audio books from your local library branch, right from your phone. Of course what you can checkout is limited to what is available at that particular branch. The selection is really incredible at my particular branch. You can also get in line for a book by putting a hold on it. The app will alert you when the book is ready. You are able to renew your loan if no one else is waiting for it. Loans can also be deferred if your hold is not quite ready. The in-line reader is very good and is accessible from a web browser, as well as mobile and tablet apps. However, many of the books can be read through the Kindle app if you prefer that.

Since downloading the app I have read more than usual and I certainly spend less money on buying books now. I’ve already added tags and holds to more books than I’ll be able to read in a year.
